Welcome to The Snippet

Your weekly round-up of Scottish politics - written by young people, for young people.

Why subscribe?

Scotland’s media isn’t aimed at young people. News outlets might cover issues we’re interested in, but they’re not written with those aged 30 and under in mind. This means we rarely see stories covered from our perspective, or they might not be given the space they deserve.

With social media turning into a minefield of disinformation, it’s becoming more and more difficult for young people to find an accurate source of news - one which is free from ads, clickbait and political bias.

The Snippet is a new generation of news - a completely free, easy-to-read and ad-free way of accessing the stories you care about. No more trawling every outlet or getting frustrated with a lack of coverage.

All you have to do is subscribe, and you’ll get a free newsletter sent straight to your inbox every Friday morning with a round-up of the top politics stories of the week.

It’s time to change the conversation and put young people at the centre of the story - sign up now.

Meet the editor

I’m a journalist based in Glasgow, currently working as a reporter for The National and the Glasgow Times.

I’ve spent time working with politicians and campaigners, covering some of the most important stories over the last year - from the General Election to the end of the Bute House Agreement. It’s been a great experience which has shaped my passion for Scottish politics, but it’s shown me that young voices are often left out of mainstream media reporting.

If you have a story you’d like to share, or you want to make sure we cover a particular issue, please do get in touch - it’s only by hearing from the community that we can make sure The Snippet reflects your interests.
